A Word of Welcome from Our Club President

 Michelle Photo

This year we “Light Up Rotary”!  Rotary International President, Gary C.K. Huang chose Light Up Rotary as his theme for 2014-15. Huang was inspired by the teachings of Chinese philosopher Confucius who said: "It is better to light a single candle, than to sit and curse the darkness."

In Round Rock, we Light Up Rotary with over two millions lights at the Round Rock Rotary Reindeer Run (5R5K) on Sunday, November 30th.  A partnership with the City of Round Rock, Rock’N Lights Holiday Tour, this is our club’s largest fundraising event with proceeds benefitting the Play for All Abilities Park.

We are proud sponsors of the Cedar Ridge High School Interact Club.  They continue to shine bright by raising awareness for local and global issues through a variety of fun activities.  Berkman Elementary has been our adopted school for many years now.  We dedicate our Pints for Purpose fundraising event to the teachers and students at Berkman.  What greater reward could there be than to see the kid’s faces light up when we bring exciting educational programs like the Zooman, Lucas Miller, and more to the classrooms?

The Sunrise Club believes serving our community should be fun and family-friendly.  We have a long-standing tradition of working with other organization to achieve common goals.  Let’s “Light Up Rotary” and Round Rock together!
