Saltillo Rotarians Visit Round Rock
The weekend meeting with our brother club was quite successful. Our own club members worked together to make sure recreation was available and at least somewhat fun! As always, the folks from Saltillo were easy to please and great to be around. We were surprised by the inclusion of seven children - all beautifully behaved. Our first event was the Fish Fry at Marble Falls where the group had a scenic ride out 1431 and an additional Afterglow Party at a nearby ranch. Joe and Jenny Boatman set up a spa opportunity at She Spa in Georgetown for the ladies ( not knowing the children status!) that had to be cancelled. Lone Star Bakery was represented at the meeting as well as Marge and the great array of fruit she provided. After the meeting we went to Rockin’ Tomato Pizza where Dave Cook provided a yummy buffet for our guests. Before the Saturday evening dinner at The Old Coupland Inn some of the group hit the Mall and then Walmart after dinner! These gals are shopaholics! Tino handed out bottles of Texas wine for take home goodies, and we called it a night.
This was truly a group effort. I appreciate and thank all that participated and helped with transportation and organization.
I really don’t know the capacity of Duane and Janis’ Suburban! They just kept getting in! Truly amazing!
Tinos organization and shepherding and translating was instrumental in this being as successful as is was.
